As It Was In The Days Of Noah

As I look around me each day, I cannot help but see just how the society in which we live today fits the description the Lord gave us of what to look out for as a warning of just when He might return to take us home. Everything happening in the world at this moment convinces me that we are truly in the 'end times', so, I urge you, be vigilant (like the wise virgins) and watch and pray for the coming of the Lord. Let your heart's cry be

"Come, Lord Jesus, come!"

AS IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH

As it was in the days of Noah, Lord,

Wickedness prevails on the earth today,

And there are so many of our loved ones

Who are constantly being led astray.

They're listening to the lies of mere mortal men

Instead of reading Your Word,

And so much of what these men are preaching

Is completely and utterly absurd.

People care nothing for others,

Thinking only of their own needs and desires,

And their lives are spent seeking great riches –

Far much more than any one man requires.

They break all Your laws and commandments,

And Your Word can't be preached in our schools,

While all sorts of other false teachings

Are being used as Satan's sly tools.

You said that we should take courage,

And not give in to doubt or to fear,

For these are all signs of Your coming,

And that day that You promised is near.

You told us that You would return, Lord –

That we should be alert, not asleep –

For when we were least likely to expect it,

Your promise to return You would keep.

So, Lord, we most humbly beseech You,

Please return now for Your waiting Bride,

For the faithful are watching and waiting

For You to call us to sit by Your side.

Then, with Your saints and the angels,

Forever our praises will ring,

And as we rejoice to be standing before You,

For eternity we will worship our King.
