Why is it that, whenever things start going wrong; or people hurt us, either emotionally or physically; or life just generally gets too tough, we forget who is really in control of our lives?  Why do we forget that Jesus took all our pain, grief, worry and strife upon Himself when He died upon the Cross?  This poem came to me at such a time, as a reminder of who we should turn to in times of need.

BE STILL, MY HEART

Be still, my heart,
Please don't despair,
For the Lord thy God is with you.
Just wait on Him,
He's reaching out,
For He is faithful and He's true.

 Please don't give up,
My weary heart,
For on God you can depend.
He will lift you up,
He will carry you –
He will be there till the end.

Be not afraid,
My failing heart,
For there is no need to fear.
When you cry out,
He'll hear your cry,
And forever He'll be near.

His love for you
Will never end,
For you are precious in His sight.
So fix your eyes
Upon the Lord,
And He will be your guiding light.
