Jesus is the rock on which we stand, and because He is, we trust Him and we know that He will never leave us, because He told us so in His Word.  What more could we want than this?  What a solid foundation He supplies for us to base our faith upon!

BLESSED BE THE ROCK

Blessed be the rock –
The one on which I stand –
For I know He is my fortress, safe and strong.
He's my Saviour and my friend,
On whom I can depend,
And to Him alone I know that I belong.

When my body's racked with pain
And I feel I can't go on,
I know that He is there to carry me,
And when I'm tired and weak,
And filled with doubt or fear,
The power of His love will comfort me.

When my foes are all around
And I don't know where to turn,
He is my guiding light; He'll show the way.
If I stumble, if I fall,
I need not fear at all,
For I know that He's beside me every day.

He'll supply my every need,
Not my wants and not my greed,
And I know that He will hear me when I call.
For He gave His life for me
On the cross at Calvary,
So now I have no need to fear at all.

Then He rose up from the grave
And broke the power of death
As He ascended to be at His Father's side,
But He said He'd come again,
Though we do not know just when,
To claim His people – His long-awaited bride.

Yes, He's coming back for me –
It's in His Word you see –
And on the Word of God you can rely,
And when He does I know
That up to Heaven I'll go
To my mansion waiting for me in the sky.

So are you waiting too?
Do you feel the way I do?
Or is your heart still full of fear and doubt?
Just ask Him to forgive
And give your life to Him –
He's there you know, if you will just reach out.
