Child Of God

So often, when I am going through times of trial, pain and suffering, I start wondering if God really understands what I am going through. During one such time, when I was feeling particularly downhearted, the Lord gave me this poem. It really encouraged me to go on, because I realise now that EVERYTHING I have gone through, Jesus went through too. I hope these words encourage you as they did me.

CHILD OF GOD

Child of God why can't you see,
That the Lord Jesus Christ has set you free?
Why do you worry, and why do you fear,
When the Son of God is always near?

As you come to Him each day in prayer,
Do you know for sure that He's always there?
As you read His word each day and night,
Do you know you are precious in His sight?

Don't you know He died at Calvary
To show His love for you and me?
And then He ascended to His Father's side,
But He's coming again to claim His Bride?

When your mind is full of fear and doubt,
Haven't you realised that He will help you out?
And when the load is too much to bear,
Don't you know your burdens He will share?

If you want peace and joy in your heart,
Give Him your whole life, not just a part.
Reach out to Him, let Him take control,
And He will touch you and make you whole.

So remember, you're a child of God,
And the road you're walking He has trod.
And everything you're going through
He understands, for He's been there too.
