Throughout my walk with the Lord, the one desire of my heart has been for Him to fill my heart with so much love that it overflows and touches other people's lives.  I have constantly tried to do His will (although I must admit I find it very hard, and I very often slip up), and my overwhelming need is for Him to continue His work in me and burn out the dross in my heart so that there is room for Him to fill it completely.

FATHER, BURN OUT THE DROSS

Father, burn out the dross that stains my heart
With Your all consuming fire,
Until the desire to serve You, Lord,
Is my one and only desire.

For you are the potter and I am the clay,
Soft and malleable within Your hands,
So take my life and mould it, Lord,
Until I obey all of Your commands.

Wash me whiter than the snow
With Your precious cleansing blood –
Let it pour through every part of me
Like an overwhelming flood.

Let Your Word be always on my lips,
Every moment of every day,
And may words of encouragement, love and peace
Be all that I can say.

Show me Your perfect will for me,
And what You would have me do,
So each day all others will see, my Lord,
Is less of me and more of You.

Please take my heart and fill it, Lord,
With more love than it can hold,
And as that love overflows, my Lord,
May it be multiplied ten-fold.

May it touch the lives of many, Lord,
And soften their hearts of stone,
But may none of the glory be given to me,
But to You, and You alone.
