My Jesus gave His
life for me
On a hill called Calvary
And death for us no longer
Is a prison
A crown was placed upon His head
Of thorns so sharp and long
And nails into His hands and feet
Were driven
The nails did not hold Him on the tree
But His love for you and me
And He asked that those who killed Him
Be forgiven
As He yielded up His Spirit
Into His Father's hands
The veil from top to bottom
Was riven
But death could not hold Him in the grave
For the stone was rolled away
And now my Jesus is alive,
YES, HE IS RISEN
