One day, whilst reading and thinking about this Scripture, I started to think about what the most important things were in my life.  The Lord showed me that He was not really the thing uppermost in my mind, but that I spent more time enjoying and thinking about the things of this world we live in.  This made me feel very humble, and as I considered what this meant to my life, the words of this poem came to me.  I encourage you to think about what you place uppermost in your life.  Is it the Lord, or is it the things of the world?

HERE IS MY HEART

Here is my heart, Lord,
To do with as You will,
So that everything I do each day
Will Your desire for me fulfil.

You say You are the potter, Lord,
And that my heart is the clay –
Please soften it and shape it
So Your commandments I'll obey.

Fill it with a desire, my Lord,
To seek You more and more each day,
And the knowledge that, with You by my side,
All my enemies I can slay.

Please wash away my guilt and shame
With the blood You shed for me,
And open up my blinded eyes
So I can see Your will for me.

As You fill it with Your love and peace,
May I minister to those in need,
And may every word I speak, my Lord,
In someone's heart sew a fertile seed.

As I wait upon You every day,
Please show me what to do,
And when others look at me, my Lord,
May they see less of me and more of You.
