How often do we tell the Lord how we really feel about Him just because of who He is, not because of what He has done for us or for others?  His commandment that He gave us while He was here amongst us was to love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your strength.  Do we really do this, or are we just grateful for what He has done for us.  I pray that this poem will become a prayer to the Lord for you, as it has for me.

I LOVE YOU, LORD

I love You, Lord, with all my heart,
And with every fibre of my being,
For You keep me safe from every harm,
And You send my enemies fleeing.

I love You because You understand,
And You meet my every need,
And I love You because, when I think I fail,
You show me the way to succeed.

I love You for You have given me
The promise of eternal life,
And I love You because You heal my soul
When other's words cut like a knife.

I love You for Your sacrifice
When You gave Your life for me,
For through that act of boundless love,
From sin and death You set me free.

I love You because You've revealed to me
The love my earthly father never could,
And You've shown me that Your love is true,
And to me You've been so good.

I love You because You're giving me
A heart so soft and new,
But most of all, my Lord and King,
I love You because You're You.
