No
comments are necessary to accompany this poem. It came to me at a
time of real turmoil in my life, and all I can say is that I pray that it
says as much to you as it says to me. May God bless you with an abundance
of His mercy and grace, and may He hold you safely in the palm of His hand
until He comes to take us home.

I
ONLY WANT TO LOVE YOU
"Jesus
is Lord" I hear you say,
But is He the Lord of your life today?
Do you put Him first in all you do,
Or is there less of Him and more of you?
Do
you give Him thanks for what He's done,
Or do you take for granted My only Son?
Have you given Him the key to your heart,
Or have you given Him just a little part?
Do
you turn to Him in times of doubt,
Or have you turned the key and locked Him out?
Do you fully realise why My Son was born,
Or do you struggle on, still battered and torn?
Do
you know He came to save you, and to set you free,
Or do you think "Oh, I'm too dirty, He really can't want me"?
Does His death on the cross mean anything at all,
Or have you closed your ears to the Saviour's call?
Do
you know He shed His blood to wash away your sin,
Or do you say "You can't mean me, you don't know where I've
been"?
Do you know I've sent My Spirit to live inside of you,
Or do you say "Those times are past" and "That's no longer
true"?
Oh,
open up your eyes, My precious, precious child.
I'm reaching out to you, My arms are open wide.
I only want to love you, and keep you safe and warm,
And in My arms you'll find there is a shelter from the storm
So
come to Me, My child, and let me show you that I care,
And I will take you in My arms, and always keep you there.
So just reach out My child, and put me to the test,
And you will find a haven; a place where you can rest.
