I Want To Be A Beacon

As Christians we must always remember that how we behave reflects what is in our hearts. If we truly desire to be a representative of the Lord on earth, we must constantly be aware of what image we are showing to the world. We must let the light of the Lord shine out so that people can see that we are different and will want to know what we have that they don't. So, open up your hearts, and let your light shine through.

I WANT TO BE A BEACON

I want to be a beacon, Lord,
A reflection of Your love,
So please fill this empty vessel,
With Your power from above.

I know I'm tired and helpless, Lord,
So weary and so weak,
But You have promised an inheritance
To the humble and the meek.

Despite my pain and suffering, Lord,
Let me reach out to those in need.
Let me touch each tired and weary heart
And plant in there a seed.

Let that little seed take root,
And cause each heart to sing,
As they realise the joy and peace
A life with You can bring.

I want to show Your people, Lord,
That they are not alone,
And that, in their weakness, You are strong,
And they will not be overthrown.

Yes, when the people look at me,
Let them see Your face, not mine,
So, please fill me with Your love, my Lord,
And let this beacon shine.
