Every now and then I realise that I am starting to take all the blessings that God has given me for granted.  Why is it that, whenever things are going along smoothly, we forget to praise the Lord and fall to our knees and thank Him for what He has done for us?  Why does it often take times of trouble and strife for us to call out to Him?  Surely we should be praising Him all the time, as He says in His Word.  I ask you now to think about how often you take the Lord for granted.

I WON'T TAKE YOU FOR GRANTED

I will always praise You, Lord –
I won't take you for granted.
My love for You will grow and grow,
Like a seed that has been planted.

I'll take that seed You put in my heart
And I'll water it with Your Word.
As I do, I'll feel Your presence, Lord,
And I'll soar just like a bird.

Your love has set me free, my Lord,
To serve You and You alone.
You've filled me with Your Spirit,
And softened my heart of stone.

You washed me with the blood of the Lamb
When I said to You "Come in!",
And now I am whiter than the snow –
I'm set free from the power of sin.

So I won't take You for granted,
For to me You've clearly shown,
That Your love for me will never end –
That You are my very own.
