I often wonder why people tend to concentrate on Jesus dying on the Cross when talking about Jesus, as though this is the main thing that the Lord did for us whilst He was here on earth, when in fact the greatest victory was the fact that He rose from the dead and ascended to Heaven to be by His Father's side whilst He prepares a place for us to join Him when He returns for us some day soon.  Yes, Jesus' death was very important, because on the Cross He bore all our sickness, pain and suffering, sorrow and grief, and took away all our sins, but when He rose up from the grave He defeated death and gave us the hope of eternal life.  To me, that is the most important thing about Jesus - He is alive, not dead, so now I know that, when my time on earth comes to an end, or when He returns to claim His Bride, I have the knowledge that this is not the end of my journey, but just the beginning, because I will then join my Saviour in Heaven and will worship God with the angels around the throne for all eternity.  What a wonderful future we have to look forward to!

MY JESUS IS ALIVE

For me, death now has no more sting,
For I have eternal life.
Jesus, the Light of the world has come,
To banish fear and strife.

As I walk along life's darkened path,
I know Jesus will be my guide,
And in my hour of deepest need,
I know He is by my side.

If I stumble, or if I falter
His loving arms are always there…
He'll catch me, and He'll keep me
Safe from the fowler's snare.

He is my mighty fortress –
The solid rock on which I stand,
And in my times of fear and doubt,
He'll hold me in His hand.

When my enemies surround me,
He's beside me in the fight –
He'll be my strength, He'll be my shield,
For I am precious in His sight.

He loves me just the way I am,
Of that I have no doubt –
He accepts me, despite my many faults,
And He will never cast me out.

So now I have no need to fear,
And I have no need to strive,
For Jesus rose up from the dead –
Yes, MY JESUS IS ALIVE!
