When I think about what the Lord has done
for me my heart just wants to burst into song. I don't deserve what He
has done, and I have not earned it, and never will for as long as I live, but
still He died and rose again just for me. It was a gift of grace, freely
given to set me free from guilt and shame and to wash me whiter than
snow. What an amazing love that is! The mere words I utter cannot
express the magnitude of the gratitude I feel for that sacrifice He made, but
while I still have breath within me I will offer up a sacrifice of praise to
Him and glorify His Holy Name.
MY
LIPS WILL EVER PRAISE YOU
My
lips will ever praise You
As long as I may live,
For though I sin against You, Lord,
I know that You'll forgive.
Although
I am not worthy
Of Your blessings and Your love,
You sent Your Son to die for me
And Your Spirit like a dove.
Oh,
Father, make me humble –
I'm already tired and weak –
And may I always realise
That from You my strength I seek.
And
when I feel downhearted,
Or so lonely or afraid,
May I always look to You, my Lord,
And the promises You made.
You
said You'd never leave me –
You're my fortress and my shield –
And when I face my enemies
Your Word's the sword I wield.
So
my lips will ever praise You
As my heart with joy You fill,
And I give my life to You, my Lord,
To do with as You will.
