My husband's mother, Ina, passed away early Tuesday
morning, 31 January 2006, and I would like to dedicate this poem to her.
We are sad at her passing, but we rejoice also, because she is now with our Lord
and Saviour, Jesus Christ, worshipping at His feet, surrounded by the Heavenly
Host, and we know that one day soon we will see her again when the Lord returns
to take us to be with Him forevermore.
Come, Lord Jesus! Come!
OH
DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?
Oh Death, where is your
sting?
Oh Hades, where your victory?
Child of God, rejoice and sing,
For Jesus Christ has set us free!
We need no longer feel afraid,
No more need to cringe or cower,
For we are fearfully and wonderfully made,
And we walk in Jesus' power. We're no longer bound by sin;
From pain and suffering we are free.
Now our new life can begin,
Because Jesus died for you and me.
Then He rose up from the grave,
And ascended to heaven above,
So we can feel safe, strong, and brave,
Walking in the power of God's love.
Because our Saviour lives,
We now have eternal life,
And all our sin the Lord forgives,
And sets us free from
sorrow and strife.
So lift your voices now and sing,
And join the angels up above.
Come and worship God, our mighty King,
And thank Him for His gift of love.
For death no longer has a sting,
And of eternal life we can be sure,
When we go to join our awesome King
And dwell with Him forevermore.
