ONE BLESSED DAY

One blessed day so long ago
The Prince of Peace came from above,
To walk with men upon the earth
And reveal to us God's love.

In a lowly stable He was born,
With sheep and cattle all around,
Then in a manger He was laid,
Where by some shepherds He was found.

They'd been told that He'd arrived
By the angels from on high,
And were led there by the brilliant star
That had appeared in the sky.

Then some wise men from the east
Also saw that shining star,
And they, too, came to seek the King
With gifts and treasures from afar.

When His time for ministry arrived,
He travelled throughout the land.
He healed the lame, the sick and blind
And held the lepers by the hand.

But then they crucified my King
And they laid Him in the ground,
But on the third day He rose again
And it was an empty tomb they found.

But Jesus said He'd come again
To claim His people for His own,
And then forever we will sing
As we stand before His throne.
