As Easter draws closer, I think about all the people in the world who haven't yet realised what our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, did for us when He died on the Cross and rose up from the grave three days later.  I pray that the Lord will use this poem as a tool to help open the eyes of these people to the amazing sacrifice He made, and enable them to make the decision to repent and ask for forgiveness for their sins and let Him take complete control of their lives.

OPEN THEIR EYES

Why won't the people listen, Lord,
And why can't the whole world see,
That You love each one of them, my Lord,
Just as much as You love me.

Please give them ears to hear, my Lord,
And open their eyes so blind,
So they can hear Your Words of life
And see Your love so warm and kind.

Break the chains that shackle them
To a life of pain and sin –
Show them they can be set free,
If they'd only let You in.

Oh, Lord, please show them what it means
To walk with You each day –
That Your blood was shed for them, my Lord,
And it will wash their sins away.

Reach out Your hand and touch them now,
With Your mercy and Your grace;
Let them see in You God's love revealed,
For on the Cross You took their place.

Show them the key to eternal life
Is through You and You alone,
And that only You can bring the peace
That this world has never known.
