This poem came to me one night as I was laying in bed, thoughts whirling around in my head about all the trials and tribulations we were going through in our lives at that time.  I know it was given to me to reassure me, and all my readers, that, not matter what the circumstances that are surrounding us may say, God has given us the armour and weapons to withstand all these trials and tribulations, and all the wiles the enemy may try to use to make us give up and doubt our faith in God.  Please, as you read this poem, think carefully about what it says, and may it bring you the comfort and reassurance it has given me.

SLUMBER IN PEACE

"Slumber in peace, my precious child,"
My Heavenly Father said to me,
"For from all sickness, suffering, fear and pain,
My beloved Son came to set you free."

"He died so that you could be forgiven
For all your grievous shame and sin,
Then His Spirit He sent to dwell in you,
So your new life with Me could begin."

"Daily put on the armour I have given you
So all of Satan's wiles you can withstand,
For you do not fight against earthly foes,
But against the host of darkness you must stand."

"Put on the girdle of truth each day
To guard every word that you speak,
And may the shoes of peace guide your every step
To the hungry, needy and weak."

The helmet of salvation is what I've given you
To protect your mind from every evil thought,
And my breastplate of righteousness will guard your heart
Until you join Me in My Heavenly Court."

Faith in Me is the shield you need
To ward off your enemies' blows,
And My Word is the sword I've given you
So you can defeat all your dastardly foes."

So, rest in Me, my blessed child,
Until My Son comes to claim His Bride,
For He will some day soon, you may be sure,
To take you home to reign by His side."
