"Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they
Do we really realise just how powerful the words we speak can be? I am not talking about speaking things into being (only God can do that), but the affect that the words we speak can have on someone's life. Words of comfort, love, peace and welcome can all help someone in their time of need. Do we speak words of encouragement, or words of criticism? Do the words we say give them hope, or do they cause people to doubt their ability? I ask you this week to look into your heart, and really think about what you say to people. Why not make a special effort to reach out to someone in need, and see what a difference a few encouraging words can make to his/her life.
THE POWER OF WORDS Words
have far greater power They
give hope to the tired and discouraged, Yes,
words can lift up the spirits Gentle
words spoken at just the right time So
think carefully about each word that you speak, So
speak only words that encourage Copyright © 1993 Christine Chipman. All rights reserved.
