The
names by which Jesus is referred to in the Bible are too numerous to
mention. The most important thing to me is what the name of Jesus
personally means to me. It brings hope and encouragement, peace, love and
joy, and every time I hear that name my heart leaps within me.
THERE
IS A NAME THAT MEANS MORE TO ME...
There
is a name that means more to me
Than words can e'er express,
For it fills my heart with joy and peace,
And with grace my soul does bless.
When
I hear that name I realise
How much my Father God loves me,
For it reminds me of the sacrifice
Which from sin has set me free.
It
reminds me of the blood that was shed
On the cross that blessed day,
And it reminds me that I've been made whole,
And all my sins have been washed away.
It
tells me that I have no need to fear,
For God will keep me safe from harm,
And it fills my heart with so much love,
Which flows over me like a balm.
At
the sound of that name the demons flee,
For they cannot stand before its power,
And when I hear that name my soul is refreshed
As if with a cool and cleansing shower.
For
Jesus is that blessed name,
The Lord of lords and King of kings,
And I thank my God every wondrous day
For the joy which to my heart it brings.
