Whenever I Feel Downhearted

WHENEVER I FEEL DOWNHEARTED

Whenever I feel downhearted,
And don't know what to do,
I remember that You promised, Lord,
That I could turn to You.

You said that You would walk with me
Every moment of the day,
And You said that You would guide my steps
So from the road to You I'd not stray.

You promised, when the storms of life
Were raging all around,
That in Your safe and loving arms
A quiet haven could be found.

You promised, if I called to You
When I knelt each day in prayer,
That You would supply my every need,
And that You always would be there.

So, Lord, I want to thank You
For Your loving mercy and Your grace,
And I know that one day very soon
I'll meet You face to face.
