With all the hustle and bustle of our daily lives it is often hard to find time to just sit and wait upon the Lord, to find out what He wants from us and to enable Him to minister to us.  I know that I find it very difficult to discipline myself in this respect, and there are many days when I don't stop and listen to the Lord.  There just never seems to be enough time in the day to do everything I have to do.  So, I know that I have to find this time, and if it means giving up something else, so be it.  What is more important than spending time with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and listening to His voice.

WHILE I WAIT UPON YOU, LORD

While I wait upon You, Lord,
In the stillness of the night,
Please fill me with Your joy and peace,
And set my heart aright.

I humbly ask You to forgive
And pardon all my sin –
For only when I've been washed clean
Can I hope the fight to win.

Please let Your blood flow over me
And wash me white as snow,
Then please fill me with Your Spirit
So Your will for me I'll know.

Take this hardened heart of mine
And make it soft and new,
So everything I do or say
Will give glory and honour to You.

Please fill me with a hunger
To seek You more and more –
Plunge me deeper into You,
And my first love for You restore.
